Elegance and class are some of the words to describe The Long Table. It is a carefully curated combination of wine, alfresco luncheon, expensive music and country side views. The story of, The Long Table dates back from the year 2023 carefully narrated by the lovely Miss Nonny Nxumalo from Mangocado. It began as an intimate dining and beverage pairing experience that blends hospitality with intentional connection. This is something that started as a passion project to bring people together over beautiful curated meals, local flavours and styled spaces that both feel luxurious and warm.

According to Miss Nxumalo, “The inspiration stems from my love for storytelling through food, design and people. I wanted to create a space that celebrates community, culture and elegance, where every detail from the setting to the menu, tells a story and leaves people feeling seen, celebrated, and inspired.” Certainly, The Long Table is all about paying attention to detail an unforgettable fine dining experience.

The Long Table is more than just a dining experience it is a sensory journey where guests enjoy multiple course meal paired with curated drinks all within a beautifully styled setting that changes with each edition. It’s where style meets substance and where connections are as rich as the food. The story of The Long Table is told through style, food. the people and the atmosphere, the pictures are evident that, this is another level of dining.

As the event is known for class and elegance it also comes with a style guide which guests normally follow. Each Long Table has a unique theme but the overall aesthetic lean towards the understated luxury. When curating the event there are important elements that are important. “We often work with neutral tones, soft florals, lush textures, and layered tablescapes. Recently I’ve fallen in love with the timeless contrast of black and white, there’s something effortlessly elegant about it.” Said, Miss Nxumalo.

The Long Table has, had the pleasure of partnering with partners such as, Anele Loves Food (culinary curator), Thula Thula Bar Services, Moët, Hennessy, Jackie Cameroon School of Food & Wine, Leopard’s Leap, Laborie, Brutal Fruit including Miss Nxumalo’s brother Skhumbuzo Nxumalo who has a brand called Koi Gin. However the recent partnership was with Graham Beck, whose exceptional workmanship and attention to detail added a touch of a refined elegance to the event. They have also partnered with venues such as The Old Mushroom Farm and High Gate Wine Estate. As The Long Table grows they are also welcoming and inviting other partners that align with their vision.

In order to achieve such elegance Miss Nxumalo says, “It’s all about the flow and storytelling from sitting plan to the texture on the table every element is planned to enhance the guest experience. We focus on floral, glassware, lighting and pace of service all carefully choreographed to create a luxurious, relaxed environment.”

Mangocado handles all floral and styling in-house the season function is drawn from the season, the venue and theme. For the upcoming event they are exploring a mix of fresh whites and dried textures paired with bold black accents for a modern romantic feel. Guests can expect intentionality from the moment they arrive to the final toast, from welcome drinks, exquisite pairings, immersive styling, beautiful photo moments and the crowd that matches the energy, it is definitely a place to connect and create lasting memories.
