Exciting times ahead as Reebok and the family of Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes announced the return of The SneAKA 2.0 to be released coming out on the 16nth of November.

The SneAKA 2.0 was a collaboration between Reebok and AKA the return of The SneAKA is highly anticipated by fans. The SneAKA was a very close project to AKA with his personal touches and designs to the sneaker makes it a true collectors item for his fans.

The SneAKA now pays tribute to the enduring legacy of AKA and his music. There are added features to the sneaker that were very close to The SupaMega the South African flag has replaced the traditional Union Jack which means that, the SneAKA is the first Reebok Sneaker to have a national flag. Another added touch to the sneaker is AKA’s hand written initials “KJF” which are embroidered on the rear left heal. However the sneaker has retained the original timeless design with the cheetah-print insole and the classic leather silhouette in chalk colored garment leather.

The red heel stub makes this sneaker truly iconic and different from the rest the red heel stub is nothing but timeless and classic.
“One of the things Kiernan really wanted was the South African flag on the SneAKA unfortunately that wasn’t possible back in 2019, but with The SneAKA 2.0 we’ve finally made that wish a reality. This is huge for him, his fans and the legacy he leaves behind.” According to PJ Morrilly who is the Brand Director of Reebok South Africa.

The partnership between Reebok and The Forbes family gives a chance to fans that want to own a sentimental piece of history. This piece will be a bond between AKA and his fans forever because The SneAKA was a very close project to AKA.

Tony Forbes, Kiernan’s father said, “When Reebok and Kiernan came together, it wasn’t just about a product. There was a shared ethos of pushing boundaries, and I see The SneAKA 2.0 as a continuation of that, honoring the work he did and the vision he had.”
Kiernan’s mother Lynn Forbes is just as excited about The SneAKA 2.0 she also reflected her thoughts about this project: “This is a beautiful celebration of Kiernan’s life and legacy. He would have been incredibly proud of this release, and I know Kairo will look back one day and feel that pride, too.”

The SneAKA will be available at Reebok Canal Walk, Sportscene, Studio 88 and Shesha it will retail for R2,799. This is the limited edition so there will only be 1,000 pairs which are expected to sell like cakes. The launch will be a series of seven mini episodes which will be out in all social media platforms. This will showcase the creative process behind The SneAKA 2.0 featuring interviews with Kiernans family friends and collaborators looking at the creative process, behind the scenes, the impact and the legacy of The SneAKA. The proceeds of The SneAKA will go to the Forbes family which will support the upbringing of his daughter Kairo and the other portion will be allocated to the Kiernan Forbes Foundation.
